About MetroGo

What MetroGo Is

MetroGo is an independent multi-network metro route planning platform built for commuters across Delhi NCR. We combine three major rapid transit systems into one unified routing engine:

  • Delhi Metro (DMRC)
  • NaMo Bharat RRTS (Delhi–Ghaziabad–Meerut corridor)
  • Noida Metro (NMRC) Aqua Line

Our objective is simple: provide fast, accurate, cross-network metro routing without forcing users to switch between multiple official apps.

The Problem We Solve

Metro travel in NCR is fragmented. DMRC, RRTS, and NMRC operate separately. Official tools typically:

  • Cover only one network at a time
  • Do not support cross-network routing end-to-end
  • Often omit walking transfers or interchange penalties
  • Prioritize operational reporting over commuter usability

MetroGo solves this by integrating all supported networks into a single routing graph. Users can calculate journeys that move seamlessly across DMRC, RRTS, and NMRC with real fare breakdowns, clear interchange instructions, walking distances at transfer points, and first/last train timings.

How Route Calculation Works

MetroGo runs a custom implementation of Dijkstra’s shortest path algorithm, optimized specifically for the NCR metro graph. Each station is treated as a node and each track segment as a weighted edge.

Edge weights combine:

  • Travel time between stations
  • Interchange penalties (approximately 6 minutes per line change)
  • Walking time between platforms, concourses, or nearby stations
  • Premium line penalties for Airport Express and RRTS to avoid unnecessary cost-heavy routes unless the time saving justifies it
  • Branch-line handling at Y-junctions (e.g. Yamuna Bank, Ashok Park Main) so directions towards split corridors remain correct

To generate meaningful alternatives, the engine runs multiple passes with different interchange penalty values. This usually produces 2–3 distinct route options — such as the fastest route, the route with fewer interchanges, and a balanced option between time and cost. All computation happens server-side for speed, consistency, and SEO integrity.

Networks Covered

  • Delhi Metro (DMRC) — 12+ lines, 250+ stations, ~390 km of network length
  • NaMo Bharat RRTS — Delhi–Ghaziabad–Meerut corridor, high-speed regional transit with up to 160 km/h operational capability
  • Noida Metro (NMRC) — Aqua Line, 21 stations connecting Noida and Greater Noida

MetroGo integrates these networks into a single routing graph instead of treating them as isolated systems.

What You Can Do on MetroGo

Data Transparency

MetroGo structures its routing graph using a combination of GTFS datasets, official metro publications, and publicly available transit data from DMRC, NCRTC, and NMRC.

Fare calculations follow official slab-based metro fare tables. First and last train timings are sourced from published operational schedules and reviewed periodically. While we strive for accuracy, transit data can change. For time‑sensitive decisions, users should verify information with official authorities when necessary.

Who Maintains MetroGo

Built and maintained by Munendra Singh

MetroGo is maintained by Munendra Singh, an independent web developer, blogger, SEO practitioner, and digital systems builder. The project is run as a practical commuter information system, with a focus on route accuracy, useful station data, and transparent source handling.

MetroGo remains an independent utility and is not affiliated with DMRC, NCRTC, or NMRC.
